Coach Quick breaks down how they run their drills for coaching man to man techniques by beginning with the explanation of the first drill they teach their younger players that they call “Knee Jab” which has the DB’s on their knees working against a Wide Receiver. As Coach explains this drill he is illustrating on the whiteboard the exact technique that they teach to their players in helping the to understand man coverage. Coach talks about the importance of the Wide Receiver understanding the defensive drills so that they are not stopping to teach the wide receivers on what they want they to do when coming together they assists in more reps in learning the techniques being taught. Coach shares how they evaluate their techniques by filming their drills and how they set their drills up to better evaluate the desired techniques being taught in regards to feet and hand placement.
