Caoch Glover likes their special team return circuit because it gives coaches an opportunity to evaluate in practice who should be on the field on game day.

By putting every player through each of the drills, you are able to see which players are able to execute the skills needed to setup a return.
Scrape the Paint Drill: Drills the times when the return team blocker loses his leverage, his helmet is not in front of the opponent, he is not able to see the front of the jersey, and needs to avoid a penalty for an illegal block in the back.
Post Clamp Drill: Works on Double Team Kick Out Block. The rules for the post player: Head Up, Strike, and Stay on your cliff. The Rules for the Clamp: Bang-Bang, Attack 90 degrees to your post teammate, Should to Shoulder, and Hip to Hip
Loose Predator and Prey Drill: A competititve drill to determine your toughest players, find who is able to redirect, find out who can move their feet to setup the block, who can create surface. For the defenders: who can get off a block, who can redirect blockers and the return man, and who can use their hands.
The Tech teaching philosophy is the part-part-whole method. The return circuit then ties all od the parts together. They then run through their return scripts in practice on Thursday.
