Coach Johnston begins sharing Virginia Techs attacking 4-2-5 defense in which it requires great communication on the field and on the sidelines and most of what they do is determined by game tape and scouting. Coach shares why his school runs the 4-2-5 and the first reason coach shares is that they can get more speed on the field , easier to adjust when facing spread offenses, provides multiple coverages and great for blitzing. Coach shares his defensive philosophy which he feels the strength of the 4-2-5 the ability to mix the fronts up, defend the middle of the field and force quarterbacks to throw short and outside. Coach Johnston gives an excellent presentation for running the 4-2-5.
