Chad Hetlet
Glenbard West High School
Coach Hetlet starts his presentation by showing how he breaks his approach to attaching offenses into 4 lanes which simplifies what an offense can do. Coach shares that using the 4 lane approach helps his players to better understand where their run fit and pass fits apply which is primarily for the back 8 defenders as the defensive line reacts entirely on block recognition. Coach Hetlet names his 4 lane approach as the following:
0-Lane Dropback Pass,
1-lane Outside Run (perimeter),
2-Lane Inside Run (interior),
3-lane Out-of-Pocket Pass (boot, sprint-out).
Coach Hetlet provides illustrations and explanations on a white board to assist in understanding his approach.
