🏈 Dime is good for them because it allows them to play Tampa 2 coverage along with hard corners, but their players don’t have to carry 2 in the seam.
🏈 This allows them to get a middle of the field player to either play in the middle of 2 receivers, in between 2 and 3, or assign him to one side
🏈 One side will then play either quarters or 2 carry and the other side will play cover 2. It takes the pressure off the outside linebacker to cover the have to cover the deep route.
🏈If the middle of the field player’s cover does not go vertical, he defends the stick.
🏈In addition to the rules for the secondary, they almost always include a line game as well.
🏈 The inside linebacker will wait for a 2 count for any type of screen. Their objective is to force the quarterback out of the pocket with their line game, then they will blitz the linebacker.
