Defensive Philosophy
- RUN TO THE BALL
- If we get 8, 9, 10, 11 to the ball every play, we can correct a missed tackle.
- Teams that pursue the football passionately, don’t give up too many big plays due to missed tackles.
- Near Leg, Near Shoulder Tackling.
- “Own your leverage, own your hip, use your help.”
- Keep the head out of contact.
- Our kids love contact, but the goal is (and will always be) to get the ball carrier on the ground and make them snap it again.
- Making the tackle is a priority over delivering a big hit.
