Grading Special Teams Players

February 28, 2017 by

The purpose of this post is not to say that this system will work for every team.

It is posted with the intent that you can find a few things in this system that might improve your current special teams grading system, or give you a basis to start one if you are looking to completely overhaul what you are now using.

The best use of this post is to put some sustained thought to it and tweak it, so that it becomes your own.

We grade our special teams’ players each week, using a production point system.

The concept is based upon whether a player or the team (SWAT, PRIDE, etc.) produced the specific objectives.

We award helmet decals based upon five production points per award.

A player earns an elite status when he has accumulated thirty-five production points in the season.

The following tables, individual and team, are for Special Teams Production Points.
