February 8, 2017 by

Introduction, Zone / Deep Zone in Pass Defense

Coach Schmidt, Head Football Coach University of Wisconsin at La Crosse, explains how their defensive approach uses multiple coverages stemming off their base coverage which is Cover 4.

This segment explains zone definitions in pass defense and how they defend multiple zone drops.

One key coaching point which is excellent is now Coach Schmidt explains their concept for never allowing their pass defenders to never get too deep and too wide.

This presentation will also explain UW Lacrosse’s approach to defending Curl/Flat zones and Hook/Seam zones as it works into installing Cover 3.
