Pistol Spread Offense: Escape the Rush Drills

The quarterback is the key to making the Pistol Spread Option Offense run at high efficiency. Decision-making, footwork, ball handling and throwing accuracy are just a few areas in which that the QB must demonstrate proficiency. To be effective in all situation he must also understand how to avoid the rush. In the clip below Anthony Pratley, former Concordia University (Ann Arbor) Offensive Coordinator; innovator of the Pistol Spread Option Offense, show a series of simple drills to help the QB recognize where the pressure is coming from and quickly chose the proper escape route.
