WR Zone Beater Concept to Win Against Non-Conflict Defenders

October 13, 2024 by

This article was originally posted on the Glazier Coaching Blog.

When facing zone defense, Bethel University (MN) OC Colin Duling teaches the Quarterback to manipulate the conflict defender.  The responsibility to manipulate the non-conflict defender falls on the receivers.

In the video below, he describes a few scenarios, including a drill and how they practice the concept as a team.   Coach Duling uses game film to show how they apply it.

The video is a portion of his Glazier Drive presentation, WR Technique & Drills vs. Zone Coverage.
