Tim Zetts
Offensive Coordinator / Quarterback Coach
John Carroll University
Coach Zetts begins his presentation by sharing his team stats and the impact that pass screen options has made a difference in their offense. Coach shares why he went to the screen option game which was due in part to his quarterback being too quick with his eyes, and wanted to find easy completions for his freshman quarterback. Also discussed was that his offensive line was having problems protecting the quarterback so he needed to go to the quick passing game. Coach shares his philosophy on the quick screen option game and the flexibility it gave them to attack multiple areas on the field. Coach shares how his routes work versus 3 step and quick 5 step dropback concepts. Included with how coach Zetts instructs his quarterbacks is how his quarterbacks evaluate routes they think will be open according to defensive alignments. This presentation provides excellent bullet points and actual game film.
