Up Tempo in Pistol: Introduction

Coach Flynn begins his presentation by sharing why they went to the pistol offense because it offered a unique alignment which allows for multiple formations which features the downhill run with spread advantages. Coach shares their no huddle approach and how they want to snap the ball every 18 seconds. Coach Flynn shares how they went from numbering plays to naming plays. Coach shares how they script plays and how they simplified their call sheet to compliment their no huddle hurry up approach. This is an excellent presentation for understanding why you would want to run the pistol offense.
